HELLO,

My name is Liene Drubina, and I’m a Latvian artist and illustrator based in Bergen, Norway.

In the spring of 2019, I received my Bachelor's degree in Visual Communication from the University of Bergen, Faculty of Art, Music and Design (KMD). As of spring 2023, I have also completed my art teacher education and have since been working in schools, as well as conducting freelance, art-related workshops.

Inspiration comes to me through nature, books, music, and people. My best friends are pencils, but I enjoy painting with oil and always welcome the chance to experiment with different materials and techniques.

My work reflects a deep commitment to exploring themes such as mental health and human nature, and is often characterised by a continuous search to understand both inner and outer landscapes. Through drawing and painting, I aim to explore and visualise the relationship we have with our surroundings, while also navigating our own mental terrain.

As I continue to grow as an artist, I aim to deepen the emotional and thematic layers of my work while reaching broader audiences through exhibitions, public art, and collaborative projects. I am committed to creating both visual and physical spaces that invite reflection, dialogue, and meaningful connection.

Currently a member of BACKYARD Studios, an artist collective in Bergen.
